Creative Reading Workshop
by Shreyashi Roy
Time: 6 sessions starting 27th April
Age: Classes 1, 2 & 3
The whole experience of reading becomes magical when we go beyond the literal meaning of the text, and start exploring between the lines where the source of unlimited knowledge and the most moving aesthetic experiences are hiding.
In this Creative reading workshop, we adopt an experience-centered approach to reading. It is designed to provide a bridge from the known to the unknown, where children can move from their own experiences to the shared experience of the story writer. In order, to make reading more meaningful and personal, we incorporate different relevant activities. Teaching through art & craft, music, dance, and other activities not only help a young child to understand and enjoy the text but also provide the essential impetus to produce original ideas, which are crucial for the creative expression.
